Dissapointed With Left 4 Dead 2

I never played the first Left 4 Dead, but I got a chance to play part 2 tonight. I was playing with a friend getting out of a hotel. I have to say I was pretty underwhelmed after all of the hype around it. It was pretty much just spraying bullets and crazy amounts of zombies, which is cool, but I have seen this before in quite a few games now. The zombies seemed to have bad animations too. They don't really react to being shot, just random blood spraying around then they are dead. Also, can you look down the sights of an assault rifle?I gotta ask, what do people find so crazy good about this game? It honestly seemed fairly generic to me.Dissapointed With Left 4 Dead 2
Not every game needs to be able to look down the sights of guns :PDissapointed With Left 4 Dead 2
Honestly, I wasn't being sarcastic, but we couldn't find a way to do it. I would assume then that you can't? I have to disagree then. I think that's pretty appalling. If I played this game a lot I would be constantly hitting LT to look down the sights by accident. I have spent thousands of rounds of ammo with assault rifles and hand guns. Working on a limited supply of ammo you would have to be very accurate with your shots against zombies. Firing from the hip is a sure way to make sure that you miss every single shot (in real life, I know the game has crosshairs). Oh well, I am happy I finally got to try a Left 4 Dead game, but I don't think it's for me.
I think it's a fun game but as you say it's been done with an outdated engine.
Yeah this too, I didn't want to bring up the graphics because I was playing split screen with my friend. I would give it the benefit of the doubt since I was playing on my 52 inch tv cut in half vertically, so I didn't get the whole widescreen effect. From what I could tell it looked about on par with Rainbow Six Vegas 2, which is not good. Making matters worse we played it after playing Modern Warfare 2 on 4 player split screen, and it looked way worse that even being twice the size.

The ammo isn't very limited, actually. I rarely ran out of ammo in the original Left 4 Dead or the Left 4 Dead 2 demo. For a game like Left 4 Dead aiming down the sights really isn't that necessary. The guns if used properly are accurate enough. The game is just cutting out the middle man here, really. Still I can't say I feel too differently about the game. People seem to like it for it's co-op oriented gameplay. Thats an aspect I honestly don't care about. It doesn't really add to the experience at all for me and to top it off I think zombies are gaming's worst enemy. Some people feel the opposite though. To each his own.
I find the zombies react to my bullets just fine, idk what your talkin about.
Well, unlike games where you use sights, you can actually hit your targets with accuracy in L4D. There's really no point in having it if you're accurate from the hip.

Yeah, I do understand they are accurate from the hip on this game. It just makes it seem kind of dumb to me I guess since in real life you would be dead in 5 seconds doing that. And yes, I do understand it is a video game not real life. I still do not like the concept.

Im not really a fan of the series i just find it to be very boring the gameplay in general and animations just feel very stiff, i think for me it just feels out dated
I love it, anyways.
you playin the aussie version? cause its fun. jk i know its your opinion on the game. for me though i actually like it way more than i thought i would
Hey TC, I agree with you a lot. I didn't play L4D either, but I tried L4D2 demo a couple of days ago, and it felt really boring. Just not my cup of tea I guess! I kinda expected to like it more, because it's made by Valve (a great, great dev) and all, but I just couldn't find any awesomeness in it... Well, I'm glad I tried the demo and didn't buy the full game! :)
well what makes the game soo Amazing is the Source engine (counter strike engine). i like the new Gunz too.
I'm actually really digging L4D2.
you dont like it cuz its a mediocre game.
you dont like it cuz its an AMAZING game, and theres something wrong with you.
Fixed it for you.

I found it better.
