oblivion help, lost shadowmere the horse

I got the horse shadowmere and lost em. I know hes supposed to reappear at fort farrugot if he ever disappears but I can't find him there, I looked everywhere. Anyone else have this problem?oblivion help, lost shadowmere the horse
Well since it's a horse, every time you fast travel somewhere the horse it suppose to come with you. In the case of Shadowmere, once he/she (?) dies they'll respawn back at Fort Farrugot oblivion help, lost shadowmere the horse
Did you have the horse armor on it?
It gave me the usual message ''your horse has been stabled'' I went to the stables when I left and it wasnt there. So I searched fort farrugot and still couldnt find em. And no I didnt have any armor on it.

I had the same problem and yes I put the armor on Shadowmere..... I got pissed and just stopped looking. I altogether stopped playing actually, so if I could find that damn horse, I might be inclined to start playing and finally finish this amazing game.
The same thing happened to me, but about 2 weeks later (game time) the message came up saying ''Shadomere has returned to Fort Faragut''. You should just ignore him, horses aren't completely neccesary.

Well he is gone forever. If you lose him with the armor on thats it, you will never see the horse again. I have so much money I just buy new horse's every time they die (and they almost never do with the armor on)
Thats lame as hell. I busted my f***ing ass to get that horse. ...so since im gona have to buy a new one, any suggestions? Ima need a new one for the shimmering isles expansion!
I really wish their would be a patch that would solve this problem for Xbox 360 users. I read that for the PC version there was a mod spell that would transport your horse to you. So losing shadowmere is a quick fix.

I've lost SM for more than a week of ''real'' time gaming.  Never saw her back at the fort, any stable, or town.

One problem I read about that can delay this is that your horse( mainly SM) slowly goes back to the nearest stable to you, possibly getting attacked and knocked unconsious by wild beast or bandits.

If you haven't lost her for a good long while, I remember reading somewhere to fast travel to thge nearest non-stable town, then fast travel to one that does have a stable. Sometimes fixes.

I'm not sure this actually works, but I re-activated the quest where you get SM, and she appeared back at the fort a few days later.

As for horses... Black is considered the best in terms of speed, fighting ability, and decent hitpoints. The type under that is the white horse ( higher hitpoints than black though).  Followed by the other breeds.

Yeah I don't see the necessity of horses. Fast traveling makes horses unnecessary unless you're going somewhere new. Even then you can just run and it'll only add a few minutes to your trip.

White horse has the most HP but the black horse is the fastest. Everything else stinks.
o thats helpful to no that it respawns because i lost shadowmere during the battle at burma
I had an odd experiance with this horse. Was playing one night for a few hours, and was attacked by something(can't remember what) anyway, once I killed the thing the horse ran off. I watched him/her run, but couldn't catch it obviously. Every since, I've never seen the thing. No fast travel has ever brought it back or anything. It just ran off, and now its gone. So, you could have had that glitch. But, don't worry about it, just buy another horse. You'll eventually make so much money, you won't know what to do with it all anyway.
Before the patches I had problems with shadowmere disapearing and not returning for a few days at a time. But I actually havnt had the problem since a patch or 2 ago. I thought Bethesda had actually fixed this problem with the last patch. Or at least they said they did. But i havnt had this problem for a LONG time now.
Well I made the poor decision to ditch SM for the white Unicorn that is guarded by the three Minotaurs at some knoll....... And that white Unicorn couldn't have Armor on it and got pissed anytime I accidentally hit him and tried killing me. Anyway, I regret that decision greatly.
lol can u actually use this unicorn? Or does it act as a stolen horse I have to mount when nobody looking and wander off when you dismount.

Nope, acts as a stolen horse.... which I found out later, of course! After SM was gone for good :( Oh well, I grabbed the unicorn because I thought that it'd be awesome to have a Unicorn with Armor on it.... but again, I couldn't even do that :( Bad decision

lol this one time I fast traveled on my horses back. after the loadscreen and at my destination, my horse died right next to me:P I dont know if it was glitched, but it sure looked funny:lol: horses arent important anyway.
I lost Shadowmere to and when she didnt come back to the fort I looked at the last place I was (Quest mission for septums armor) I found her killing things a little further from where I left it days before. and if that dosent work try buying a new horse then looking back at fort farraguat I know I would have restarted if I lost Shadow.
