the only thing that seems to be elite about it is its color.....but since when does something being black make it more expensive?
who needs 120gb of hdd space for a gaming console. half of us dont fill 120gb up on a computer let alone a game console.i dont get what makes it so elite?and why microsoft is forcing us into buying the elite.the xbox 360 pro was perfectly fine......i own one right now and ive yet to fill up half the hdd.Im lookin to buy a 360 for my younger brother for his birthday and i noticed the xbox 360 pro was discontinued.so im stuck between the arcade version which is aimed at 5 year olds or the xbox 360 elite.what happen to the pro? i dont get it. it had a nice mid range price point and offered a 20gb hard drive. What makes the XBox 360 Elite so Elite?
dude the arcade is not a 5 yr old model. the only difference between the new elites and the new arcarde is the colors, the elite has a HDD and thats it since they removed the HDMI cord. go out and buy and arcade model with the JASPER chip (google for ways to locate on the box which model it is) and buy the xbox live starter kit that comes with a 60 gb hdd, 3 months of xbl and a headset. its like 50$, and the arcade is 200$, bam 250$ with a 60 gig hdd, the best processor chip and a few months of xbl already paid for.you could even buy a separate 120 gb hdd instead of the 60 and have a white elite haha. What makes the XBox 360 Elite so Elite?
''who needs 120gb of hdd space for a gaming console''I do. 60GB isn't enough for me.
I have a 250 Gig HDD in mine, just because you don't think you would fill 120 Gigs doesn't mean no one can I only have 90 left of my 250.
3 things make it elite compared to say, my launch era console (that's been fixed 4 times now)
1. It's Black and Chrome, so it doesn't show any dirt, and it's a meaner looking color combo, especially with the green lights. looks, otherworldly.
2. HDMI port (you'd think after 4 RROD, I would have gotten lucky. all well, warranty is out, so if/when it dies again, I'll remedy that situation)
3. 120 GB HDD as I type this I'm reminded that I only have about 1 gig left on my 20 GB HD. and as for not using up 120 GB on a PC. LOL, my portable HD is 150, and I have a whopping 2 gigs left. more is always better.
''who needs 120gb of hdd space for a gaming console''I do. 60GB isn't enough for me.
exactly, im down to 20 gigs on my 120 Gig harddrive
I could easily use 120 gigs just by installing games and not deleting demos or old DLC. Sadly I only have my little 20 gig which holds 14 gigs at the most.
Why're you complaining...? Compare the Pro to the Elite as of now.Pro: 20GB Hard drive. White.
Old Price: 299.99 US.Elite: 120GB Hard drive. Black.
New Price: 299.99 US.You're not getting an Elite for the price of a Pro. If someone was planning on buying a Pro for 299.99 US, they would only get 20GB of hard drive space. Now they will recieve an extra 100GB for free. What's the problem?

And I'm struggling with my 20GB 360 HDD.

Just because you cant figure out how to fill up the 20gb, doesnt mean 1/2 of us can't. Like MANY of us, I have a 20gb and its nearly full all the time. and i dont even install games to my xbox. If i could install games i would use up 60gb fast too im sure.----Also in case you didnt notice the price of the Elite is the SAME as what the pro was. So there is no need for a ''mid range price point'' that the tiny 20gb model offered. M$ was stupid to even offer the 20gb, it should have started at 40 at least.------and the Arcade bundle is a total joke, UNLESS you dont want to buy a new HDD. If you just want to buy a new console barebones, then its convenient. just because it doesnt have a HDD doesnt mean it's for 5yr olds. there are several games that dont even require a hard drive. and you can always buy one separately later. they do have memory cards too (512mb i think)just buy your little bro an Xbox360 elite. it will cost as much as you payed for your pro i bet. and he'll be happy. who cares if a pro would have maybe been enough for him.
Ever since all of these downloads came out for xbl: Movies, tv episodes, music videos, xbox originals, games on demand, the ability to download 360 games to your HDD etc... how can you not see the purpose of a 120gb hard drive?
The ''chrome'' disc tray duh lol

I didn't even know it got discontinued. Well, that shows how with the times I am.I have the old 20GB Pro and I am yet to use it up. All I use it for is to download the occasional arcade game and DLC, which is not so often. Seriously, does anyone actually buy movies on their 360? Seems like a dumb gimmick to me.All I could say that is great about the elite is the smexy color. The 100 dollar difference in pricepoint (in CAD) isn't that much. If you could care less about the huge hardrive/color, just get an arcade and buy a small hardrive.
a bigger hard drive is worth it. With the price reduction An Elite is now priced at what the pro was.
i still got like 60 gigs left of my 120 ,
u wont use all the memory but u will need it if u download DLC like me :D

It's a rental service... you don't keep the movies, but you keep the episodes of shows. I see more people on Netflix, so I don't think many people rent movies on xbl anymore.
