You've gotta be doing something wrong to go through 3.
Yeah I'm on my second right now, and the only way it works is if I wrap it around the controller.

My mic breaks all the time as well. It seems like I'm buying a new one every couple of months, sometimes more often than that! And I agree, a coupon is much needed.
Also on my 3rd WIRELESS MIC. Dont get me started on how many wired i had. MS makes cheap things.
When your done playing ur xbox dont just let the mic fall into the floor, just carefully set it somehere.
wow, i have that 1 wired mic and wireless, 2 years now, and they both work perfectly, stop throwing it against the wall, ain't no ball :) lol
My wireless microphone doesn't hold a charge very well and I've had it for maybe a year.
kind of weird you go through so many , myself and my friends have never had to replace one.
i went through 4 , 1 still works just no head band have to use other head set to hold in place 19 pieces of garbage !
not one of my headsets has broken, so anyone who said they keep going through (3+) them; its not MS, its you
I have a launch headset that still works fine, I don't really use it since I like my new black one better, but I have 3 headsets that all work fine, one for 4 years one for 2 years and one for about a week.
Here is what I know, Microsoft makes unreliable stuff. I am on my 4th 360. The first I had an intercooler blow up on (okay not MS fault), 2nd Red Ring, 3rd Red Ring, 4th is having bad disc drive problems and crashes every hour or so. I have one controller that won't let register a mic at all. You can plug it in but it refuses to admit it's there. I had one headset go bad, just plain old quit working. And I take excellent care of my things. I have a shelf just for controllers and stuff that I am using at the time.My friend just had his 360 red ring, sent it to MS, they sent him a new Xbox that has a faulty drive that opens on it's own every half hour. Now he has to send it back again and wait for it... again.The people ripping on you must not know the Xbox track record before telling you that you aren't taking care of your things. Yeah you should get a coupon, but you won't.
i had two wired ones that both rarely work and usually i can hear without anyone hearing me, i had those since launch.i got a wireless one last xmas it works great but the batterry sure is bad

I dont know how you use it, but seriously I dont think my mic will ever broke because Im taking care of it.

EVERYONE MAKES CHEAP THINGS!!! Some are jerks enough to charge you through the roof for them, and make you believe that means it won't break so fast.
I have 4 mics; only one of them is half broken, which is the mic that came with my launch console. The mic on it works, but the speaker on the headset doesn't. The reason I have so many is because they are always packaged with something. The rest of them work perfectly. How do you guys treat the headsets?
