I don't actually play many RPG's. But I do enjoy action-based RPG's like Final Fantasy Crisis Core on PSP. I do like some MMORPG's (those free download ones you see on the internet). I was wondering if this game was for me. I want to know if this game is not dull (honest opinion) and if theres alot of action involved. Also, how is the replay value? I would like to know what FPS fan's think of this game. I'm a pretty deep FPS fan and I only play some RPG's.So yeah, just wondering.Dragon Age: Origins. Is it the right gam ...
Yeah me too, I liked Oblivion and Fallout 3, but the combat in Dragon Age looks like KOTOR which I didn't like. It's Bethesda right? so it should be similar to fallout and oblivionDragon Age: Origins. Is it the right gam ...
No, it's Bioware who makes this game, and the made KotOR. Dragon Age is an awesome RPG. It's more of a PC style RPG (like Baldurs Gate). The combat can be played a few different ways, depending on how you like to play (Action RPG, or more of a planned out attack). The story and voice acting are superb, unmatched almost anywhere. It's got different Origins you can play through (Human, Dwarf, ala WoW) each one being around 40 hours. Great character creation. And the spells and skills are ones you would see in a MMORPG.

I absolutely love the game, but would caution people who don't like a very involving story and paused combat that it is not necessarily a live-action game and it may not be your cup of tea. Also, the replay value is off the charts. Each race has a different starting story, and the game can be played from countless angles and avenues.
its not bethesda, its bioware, personally i love the game, combat is turn-based, if you like games witrh deep engaging stories and tactical gameplay then you cant go wrong with dragon age, but by the sounds of it, it might not be the game for you bro, i wold suggest renting it out if you can
Yeah, i'll try to give it a rent. But is it similar to WoW style? If so, I would like to give that a try.
No, not the losing your life part. :P
If your PC can handle it, I highly recommend it.

i would say it WoW style in that you you abilities cool down after use and the combat is in real time if you choose to pause and set plans its up to you. I have not been addicted to playing an RPG like this since WoW. With that said, you should only play on nightmare settings if you want to get the true experience IMO.

I meet minimum requirements, (yeah, pc sucks), but I think I'd be more comfortable with a 360 controller. Although I like the keyboard much better. And I don't get much time on the computer to play games. Team Fortress 2 I hardly played this week. :(

I suck with PC controls on most games, but Dragon Age is easy control wise. WASD and mouse.

Nightmare i'm guessing is the hardest difficulty? I'll try to play on normal. And I find it's too easy but a bit enjoyable, I will tone up the settings :) From what I've seen, the combat seems a bit slow. Is this going to bother the gameplay? And this question is for everyone, not just you.
Dragon Age is the best RPG I have played in the last 5 or 10 years man.Amazing story, great gameplay, fantastic characters and its just fun as hell!Easily the best rpg on the 360 imo without a doubt. Its also hands down the best game this year in my opinion.
I have played it on 360 and on PC and its definatly better on pc if you have the choice, but the 360 version is great to and underrated.
I say pick it up bud! You wont be dissapointed its a very epic game! The combat is perfect imo, its a cross between turn based and real time. You can pause the combat if you want at any time, but its also real time aswell. The combat is much better then any other rpg of this generation imo. The combat is like a combination of KOTOR, Neverwinter Nights and Morrowind combat imo.The game world they have made just feels so alive and real, its just a masterpeice of a game that every rpg fan should try imo. This game destorys any other RPG of this gen imo (only rpgs that are even close to as good are The Witcher, Lost Odyssey and to some degree Fallout3).

Is online a big aspect to this game? Is it a must? I don't have Xbox Live, so I'm just wondering.

No online and im glad there is no online because they really put all there effort into the amazing experience of the singleplayer. We really dont get games this special very often bud, definatly get it!I hear that some people are trying to make a coop MOD for the pc version, but there is no guarentee. Weither you get the PC or the xbox version is up to you, both versions are good imo :)I havnt been this blown away and excited about a game in ages man hehe, so much fun.

well if you play it on normal the combat will more than likely be faster paced cause you wont have to worry about who's doin what cause your can use your own charactor in real time and more than likely get buy and still use your powers. And it has been well noted that this game feels more like an action RPG on consoles since it is easier. I think that you will like it if you like WoW cause without pausing the game in combat its just like WoW's combat. The game may feel slow at first cause of the story is developing but after a couple hours in there is tons of combat, gold, loot to find to your hearts delight. This is a deeply involving game charactor wise and story wise. If i were you i'd just buy it, play on normal for awhile till you get the hang of it, then go to the Dragon Age's main site, learn about some charactor development builds then play on nightmare, if you ever got into WoW hardcore this is a game for you.

Yeah I love the WASD controls. I will see if I can even get both o.o But I really like the PC version.
Also one more thing bud, there is LOTS of replayability in Dragon Age aswell. You can do lots of side quests and alot of your decisions and what not effect the game and how the game turns out.
@kozzy; oh there's no online. I didn't know. Anyways, I think I will really enjoy this game. :)
@Trinitarian; I've never played WoW, but I do like the look of it. And that maybe the reason why I will get Dragon Age. Also, it goods to know that the game picks up later with bigger combats. It reminds me of AC2. :) Man I really feel like buying it now.

Oh good to know. Side quests are what I like in an RPG. And replayablility is what I am looking for. And I think Dragon Age will have that.
