When you cruise around Liberty City; what do you drive and what are you listening to? Me? I drive almost exclusively American muscle cars, particularly the Tampa, which looks like a Plymouth Barricuda, (MOPAR!) I'm usually listening Liberty Rock Radio. Great old rock n roll DJ'd by the great Iggy Pop. Cruising around taking in the city and listening to the music is an integral part of the GTA experience and I think a lot of that was lost on players who solely quick travel using cabs, that's their loss I guess.Anyway, What are you rockin', and how are you rollin'?GTA4: Rockin' and rollin'

I prefer LRR while drivingn around the muscle cars. My favorites are the Dukes, Faction, and Ruiner.
In the Lost and damned I made sure to travel everywhere by bike mostly the Hexer by choice, and always listened to either Liberty Rock Radio or L.C.H.C to set the correct atmosphere for that game. In GTA IV, I travelled by any car but nearly always listened to the Jazz station which was cool for cats!

Fable won't download
Today i decided to download fable (the original) on my xbox 360. i spent 1200 points on it, did some other stuff, and checked back on it every now and then. It seemed to be making fine progress. The next day, i checked again under active downloads and it wasn't there, and it hadn't finished downloading. I tried to download it again, but it said ''this cannot be downloaded.'' I already spent the points on it and i really want this game. Can anyone help?

That's how I did it as well. Except the achievement wouldn't pop up for me and I did it 150 times. I got tired of doing it and ten minutes after I gave up the achievement popped up.

that is what i feared :( i have heard so many people say they use it but not what their gaming experience is like, i will have to try and connect to my landlords if he will let me, i would be gutted if i got an xbox after 4 months of not having one then not being able to take it online :(
just an update for anyone who searches this topic, i have been playing on xbox live using 3 mobile broadband, i have played about 15 hours online multiplayer on modern warfare 2 and i havn't lagged once, maybe i am just lucky but it is going good so far, my ping is a lil high but it doesn't affect my gameplay at all, ping sits at about 100, run a ping test via the 3 connect app, and see what your ping is, hope this helps someone :D

Yea, ''your'' gameplay is probably fine, but everyone else most likely sees you lagging across the screen.
I have a friend that uses it. He says that it plays pretty good most of the time except as mentioned in FPS games. He still plays them but does say he gets some lag that hinders him somewhat. Also I should point out that just yesterday he mentioned that MW2 plays far better than the two older ones over his service. He mentioned that he really hasn't had an issue with MW2 at all.

HDMI lag vs. Component lag
I recently bought a new Xbox 360 Elite and I have an HDTV. My past Xbox 360 didn't have an HDMI port on the back and my new Elite does. I changed by system from using HD with component cables to using HD with HDMI cables. Would this change the lag output on my tv? I'm just wondering because I finally found lag settings that worked on Rock Band 2 and now im using HDMI cables and it feels different. If your TV handles image processing differently on each input, than yeah you would need to recalibrate... this problem is totally TV dependent. So see what your manual/forums say about your TV and input lag.
I think i understand why the OP might be confused because I was curious about this not too long ago as well. I know that the cables themselves have no lag issuses and what not, but as far as hdmi goes if a cable cant have lag then why is there difference in hdmi cables? like 2.23GBps hdmi vs the 15.8 GBps hdmi cables. If there is technically no lag from the first batch of hdmi, why make a faster ones?
I know exactly what Triksta6 is talking about, because I was in the similar situation as him. The first 360 I had was a Premium (US Import) so I used Component to connect my 360 to my TV. However it died and I got a 360 Elite instead. Since the Elite had HDMI I thought it would be silly NOT to use it, so I change from Component to HDMI. Now, I only started playing Guitar Hero / Rock Band on Guitar (because I couldnt afford to import the drumset at the time) so i suppose I just thought that was how the game was. It didnt look out of sync or nothing like that. The same thing happened with I finally got a Guitar Hero World Tour Kit (playing Guitar Hero). However I noticed when playing Rock Band (when it come up freestyle parts within songs) how badly out of sync it was with HDMI.
What I ended up doing was going back to Component, and its the way it should be now, when you play in the freestyle parts its actually in sync again :)
If anyone wants to know, my TV is a 37 inch LG LCD TV.
The problem is exactly as stated before. Your TV processor is probably just slower with HDMI than component (or the opposite). It has nothing to do with settings on the XBOX or the cables you use. Just disable the noise reduction, or video enhancement on your TV. My Samsung calls it Digital noise reduction. Sometimes it interferes with lag. It is in your best interest to disable that because it will not affect the quality of the Xbox anyways. Also, samsungs have a game mode, im sure the LG does aswell. Turning this on with my tv brings the lag on rockband/guitar hero to 0ms (sometimes 1 to 2 ms)
Buddy cable doesn't add lag, Tv adds lag. Turn off stuff you don't need for gaming and if it has a ''game mode'' put it on that.
Just wanted to add that cables can most definitely add lag, but for the ordinary every-day setup you won't see it. Every cable is only guaranteed to work for a certain amount of distance before picture quality and/or signal timing diminish. Of course, this really isn't seen with average home theaters/TVs because of the distance of the cable. Actual home theater rooms, for example, need to be thoroughly calibrated to accommodate for this. I've seen this first hand too. I helped my dad install 2 identical LCD TVs in his basement, one on either side of the room (~108'). We had to delay the signal to the TV that was directly next to the source in order for both TVs to match up with the amplifier speaker audio.
Different cable materials can add lag too. A signal traveling in an optical toslink cable (light reflections) travels much differently than traveling thru a stereo composite cable (electrons thru metal).
I agree with this guy, my 360 with HDMI lags, when I use the HDMI cables, I don't know why, It's like my TV will say ''Pleas wait...'' andthe 360 Picture comes up about 5 secs late, to the point where I don't even see t full 360 intro.

here is prob why:1. you have an old HDTV2. Some TVs are better at up-scalling games than others3. i dont mean to sound nasty but how could you not understand the last post? calbes have NO LAG, how can something with no lag increase lag on the tv?you've been given a perfecty good explanation by the dude who posted after me just turn of any image enhancment and it'l be fine, like noise reduction for example if you have the option to then put it on auto, if not turn it off, stuff like that
If your TV handles image processing differently on each input, than yeah you would need to recalibrate... this problem is totally TV dependent. So see what your manual/forums say about your TV and input lag.
I think i understand why the OP might be confused because I was curious about this not too long ago as well. I know that the cables themselves have no lag issuses and what not, but as far as hdmi goes if a cable cant have lag then why is there difference in hdmi cables? like 2.23GBps hdmi vs the 15.8 GBps hdmi cables. If there is technically no lag from the first batch of hdmi, why make a faster ones?
I know exactly what Triksta6 is talking about, because I was in the similar situation as him. The first 360 I had was a Premium (US Import) so I used Component to connect my 360 to my TV. However it died and I got a 360 Elite instead. Since the Elite had HDMI I thought it would be silly NOT to use it, so I change from Component to HDMI. Now, I only started playing Guitar Hero / Rock Band on Guitar (because I couldnt afford to import the drumset at the time) so i suppose I just thought that was how the game was. It didnt look out of sync or nothing like that. The same thing happened with I finally got a Guitar Hero World Tour Kit (playing Guitar Hero). However I noticed when playing Rock Band (when it come up freestyle parts within songs) how badly out of sync it was with HDMI.
What I ended up doing was going back to Component, and its the way it should be now, when you play in the freestyle parts its actually in sync again :)
If anyone wants to know, my TV is a 37 inch LG LCD TV.
The problem is exactly as stated before. Your TV processor is probably just slower with HDMI than component (or the opposite). It has nothing to do with settings on the XBOX or the cables you use. Just disable the noise reduction, or video enhancement on your TV. My Samsung calls it Digital noise reduction. Sometimes it interferes with lag. It is in your best interest to disable that because it will not affect the quality of the Xbox anyways. Also, samsungs have a game mode, im sure the LG does aswell. Turning this on with my tv brings the lag on rockband/guitar hero to 0ms (sometimes 1 to 2 ms)
Buddy cable doesn't add lag, Tv adds lag. Turn off stuff you don't need for gaming and if it has a ''game mode'' put it on that.
Just wanted to add that cables can most definitely add lag, but for the ordinary every-day setup you won't see it. Every cable is only guaranteed to work for a certain amount of distance before picture quality and/or signal timing diminish. Of course, this really isn't seen with average home theaters/TVs because of the distance of the cable. Actual home theater rooms, for example, need to be thoroughly calibrated to accommodate for this. I've seen this first hand too. I helped my dad install 2 identical LCD TVs in his basement, one on either side of the room (~108'). We had to delay the signal to the TV that was directly next to the source in order for both TVs to match up with the amplifier speaker audio.
Different cable materials can add lag too. A signal traveling in an optical toslink cable (light reflections) travels much differently than traveling thru a stereo composite cable (electrons thru metal).
I agree with this guy, my 360 with HDMI lags, when I use the HDMI cables, I don't know why, It's like my TV will say ''Pleas wait...'' andthe 360 Picture comes up about 5 secs late, to the point where I don't even see t full 360 intro.

here is prob why:1. you have an old HDTV2. Some TVs are better at up-scalling games than others3. You TV native resolution is lower than the 360`s settings you are using.I actually dont know of any solution, if you buy an HDTV at least make sure its suited for your console, or better yet, get a computer monitor with an HDMI port.

Unfortunatly the other day i made the dumb mistake of turning my 360 from standing upright to putting it down, while gears was running in it. I heard an awful noise and took the disk out and it has two nice full circles aroudn the edge of the disk, unfortunatly i didnt read in the manual that your not supposed to do that. but im wondering if things could be worse, could that have damaged my system? I have been noticing when I'm playing online for games that my connection is real bad and im lagging a lot, but i think thats a case of my internet connection, but could it possibly be from the incident? Nope you wont get any warranty from moving the 360 on purpose like that. I dont think there will be much permentant damage ive done it before and my 360 isstill fine 7 months later.
Since you have to remove that ''do not move system while disk is spinning sticker to even operate the system, whatever damage you did won't be covered by the warentee

What causes the burn is the fact that the X360 has to be leveled, or nearly perfectly leveled when it operates. That means don't move it while it spins a disk, and place it on perfectly horizontal surface and there won't be any more damage done to your console. It is not only about moving the console,because the positionning alsois important.I don't know why Microsoft doesn't tell the world about it.It doesn't matter if it is in a horizontal or vertical position. I had disk burn problems that made a few of my games unreadable. Only the X360 ones. Why is that? They are thicker than original xbox games or the usual DVD or CD. So when they spin unleveled, or when you suddenly move your console, they are most likely to hit the laser lens. It won't destroy yourprecious gameand lens at all, so don't worry. That my friend, would take a major hit to seriously damage your console. I used some Monster Clean screen cleaner on my 'laser burned' games, and now they look and run as if the 'burn' never happened. yea this jus happened to me. my xbox was standing up on the floor but i didnt want it to get knocked over so i very gently put it on its side. I then took out my COD4 disk and it had all these scratches on it. now single player wont work on it but live is still all good. But then 2 days after then COD4 incident happened, i was playing another game on my 360. I had my disk in, when i tried to turn on the 360 and it got to the microsoft symbol then stopped. So i tried with the disk drive open so i could go to the dashboard then i pushed play, screen went black, and wouldnt work. So i took out disk and find a giant laser burn around the edge of my disk. This game was fine and it was not COD4 again so i dont know what would have triggered the burn.now i cant play that game, and am afraid that will happen to all my disks. Should i change my 360 or should i just get a new game?Can sum1 plz help!>?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?Bobman200

Hi all im new to this please be patient with me, bought xbox 360 last week for hubbys 50th ,he played on it sat ,sun and mon it laser burnt gears of war 1 our daughter returned game to shop where she was told it was because console had been used in vertical position, we had never heard of laser burn .We were told we must have moved it while machine was running we had not the shop would not replace game , i am annoyed because we used it as it should be used, done nothing to cause this yet we are being blamed we have had allsorts of excuses from shop as to why they wont do anything i have contacted trading standards i cant say as i am confident they can do anything it is so frustrating
While I understand that the consoule needs to be treated with respect, I find it suspicious that both my sons 360's started the problem at simular ages. At about 1 1/2 years of use BOTH consoules started the same ring burn issue. The 1st one we paid to have replaced because it was out of the one year warrenty. Now the second one which is newer is doing the same thing. I'm especially pissed now that I have looked on the internet and found it a common problem. A friend had the same issue but used the 360 until the red rings appeared and had it replaced for free. Has anyone ever had any luck with Microsoft in reguards to this issue?

If you have the arcade model then you can't play any original xbox games on the 360 because the original xbox had an internal hard drive. You need to have a hard drive on the 360 to play any xbox original games.
You need a hard drive to store the backwards compatibility emulation software to be able to run the originals.

Actually you guys are all wrong this same problem happened to me and is still happening to me today. I downloaded Splinter Cell Caos Theory on the Xbox originals and it didn't work. I put in a bunch of my old Xbox orginal games and none of them work either. It keeps giving the message: This game could not start. Please download the game again. I called 1-800-4myxbox and they just kept saying to download the xbox originals update. Which is pointless because obviously I have Xbox Live. They kept saying stuff about the game like redownload it. When I keep mentioning to them it's not the game, it's my harddrive. I bought my 120gb harddrive on ebay and it has a problem and can't play xbox originals. I figured out that it was my harddrive because my friend took out my harddrive and put in his and started playing Halo 2, which I could never get to play on my xbox. So your problem might actually relate to my problem. I still gotta call back eventually for that refund on Splinter Cell...

Actually you guys are all wrong this same problem happened to me and is still happening to me today. I downloaded Splinter Cell Caos Theory on the Xbox originals and it didn't work. I put in a bunch of my old Xbox orginal games and none of them work either. It keeps giving the message: This game could not start. Please download the game again. I called 1-800-4myxbox and they just kept saying to download the xbox originals update. Which is pointless because obviously I have Xbox Live. They kept saying stuff about the game like redownload it. When I keep mentioning to them it's not the game, it's my harddrive. I bought my 120gb harddrive on ebay and it has a problem and can't play xbox originals. I figured out that it was my harddrive because my friend took out my harddrive and put in his and started playing Halo 2, which I could never get to play on my xbox. So your problem might actually relate to my problem. I still gotta call back eventually for that refund on Splinter Cell...

You can make things easier. Just use the ''parent account'' (the email of whoever is registered as your parent) and move the parental settings. It should let you download most things now. And if you're 18, you can make your account independent and it'll be free, and you'll be able to do whatever it is you want to.

I hardly think that's true. Most of the women/girls I know (35 years old and under) play games or have played games at an ''addicted'' level at one point or another. Of course, most of them play casual games but they're still video games. So I wouldn't be surprised if the actual statistic of women that play video games is actually around 60-80%
If you are talking about how many women are hardcore gamers, then that's a different story.
Most hardcore gamers are male but i have met a few hardcore female gamers. They were hot too. One was total insane about Halo and WoW.

I find it amazing that people are still asking this question now and then. Whats so intruiging about the idea of female gamers? I know plenty of gamers who are female, they're there more than you think most of them just hide from mic because of stupid young male gamers who find the idea of female gamers as intimidating or not normal. Its also suprising how much abuse women get on going live, judging by the few who have dared talk the impression I get is 7 out of 10 women prefer just to keep their gender to themselves

Thank God I'm not the only one disgusted with the grammar on this page. Also, games truly are made for having fun. As stated above they're designed to entertain people, male or female, not provide you with an ego boost. A gamerscore is just a number anyone with enough cash to buy an ass load of games can raise.

I hardly think that's true. Most of the women/girls I know (35 years old and under) play games or have played games at an ''addicted'' level at one point or another. Of course, most of them play casual games but they're still video games. So I wouldn't be surprised if the actual statistic of women that play video games is actually around 60-80%
If you are talking about how many women are hardcore gamers, then that's a different story.
Most hardcore gamers are male but i have met a few hardcore female gamers. They were hot too. One was total insane about Halo and WoW.
If you really want to know, do you think this is the board you should ask that?
I find it amazing that people are still asking this question now and then. Whats so intruiging about the idea of female gamers? I know plenty of gamers who are female, they're there more than you think most of them just hide from mic because of stupid young male gamers who find the idea of female gamers as intimidating or not normal. Its also suprising how much abuse women get on going live, judging by the few who have dared talk the impression I get is 7 out of 10 women prefer just to keep their gender to themselves

Thank God I'm not the only one disgusted with the grammar on this page. Also, games truly are made for having fun. As stated above they're designed to entertain people, male or female, not provide you with an ego boost. A gamerscore is just a number anyone with enough cash to buy an ass load of games can raise.

Okay, so im going to do the Buy 2 used get 1 free and Gamespot... sooo, im going to buy COD4 for $27 and Red Faction: G for $32.. butt i dont know what to get free! I have the OB for my computer, actually i got it 2 years ago on black friday, but my ''new'' computer is junk fer gaming and can barley handle HL2, so i might consider that for my 360.
