Connecting to PC monitor / wireless inte ...

Hey guys. I have a couple of questions before I buy a 360 elite and it would be great if you could answer them -
 1. I have this VGA box which has my Wii connected to it, allowing me to switch between my PC and Wii display from a switch of the button on my PC monitor (a 21'' 1680x1050 Dell). How would I be able to hook up my PC, Wii and 360 simultaneously? If this means a new piece of equiptment, please could you link to it? I'm in the UK if that matters.
 2. I connect to the internet via my wireless router that is downstairs. I see that to do the same thing with the 360 I'd have to buy a extremely expensive adapater. Is there some other way to wirelessly connect to the internet on it, perhaps through my PC somehow?
Thanks!Connecting to PC monitor / wireless inte ...
2. Maybe those USB internet sticks work for Xbox 360 too?

But you usually have to get separate Internet service for those sticks, so it may not be cheapest solution.Connecting to PC monitor / wireless inte ...
1. Don't know if you're in the uk or not but try this if you are:http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VGA-SVGA-LCD-TFT-CRT-MONITOR-2-WAY-SPLITTER-SWITCH-BOX_W0QQitemZ200404867311QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Computing_NetworkSwitches_RL?hash=item2ea90f98efSorry, don't know how to link so you'll have to copy and paste. If you're not in the uk, i'm sure the US ebay will have one of these.
I can help with your other question too! Buy a crossover cable (again, cheap from ebay), then connect it to your pc network card. Set up a local network on your pc betwen pc and xbox (network wizard works with this) and then right click your internet connection, click properties, advanced and select internet sharing. You'll need a good connection on your pc to stop getting lag on your xbox though.
1. When you say simultaneously, are you meaning you can play the 360 on the monitor and the Wii on the Wii display at the same time but all hooked up to a switch or do you just want to be able to have all 3 systems switch between 2 different displays?

2. I use the wireless adapter myself. It's just simpler that way. You can set up ICS on your PC so your XBox uses it as a router as long as they're on the same network. But if they're on the same network, you should already have internet access. IMHO - I'd get the adapter or wait for the Wireless-N adapter to come out. It'll probably cost the same but be faster and have better range.
Regarding the wireless -- does this work?

All 3 systems (PC, 360 and Wii) switched between on one monitor is what I'm after.

I've actually ordered that to get a better picture and 5.1 audio, but it doesn't allow for a PC, Wii and 360 at the same time.
Sounds to me like you're after a KVM Switch, basically it's a peice of hardware that allows multiple pcs to be hooked up to one monitor. You'd probs have to buy the VGA adapter for the xbox if you aint already got it. Heres a link to a reasonably priced switch: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BELKIN-Omni-Cube-4-Port-F1D094-KVM-Switch-%26Power-Supply_W0QQitemZ220488884549QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=%26rvr_id=%26cguid=577d6b611230a0e20326f416ff902794

As for hooking your Xbox upto the net without the adapter, i've done this with a laptop before. If your pc has a wireless functionality then i should see no reason why the following guide shouldn't work:

Hope this helps :)

There's a ton of things you can do really.

Uhhh.

Move the router up stairs to your 360, plug it in. Buy an adapter if anything downstairs needs it.

Find a cheaper router than you can convert into a Xbox 360 adapter, DD-WRT will bring up some search results for you

Run an ethernet cable, wired is always best, but if you can't put it through the floor, then it won't be worth the effort.

Then you can run it through your computer as well.

Moving the router would be my first choice though.
