Elite = Has HDMI port, 120 gig hard drive and lower chance to red ring, those are the major noticeable differences
Less prone to hardware failure.

You know... I've heard that song a thousand times, but never has that line struck a chord within me as much as it just did. I guess looking at the lyric outside of its context made me aware of its blatant simplicity... Some people can just write amazing lyrics.

well said. basically, the newer 360s just have updated chips and other tech things that im not too sure about. what they do, however, is greatly cut down on risk of rrod. youll want to find a jasper chipset, which i believe started being made the beginning of this year. if you do a search, you'll find exactly what youd need to look for on the 360 to know its the latest chip. also, the newer models have an hdmi port (though some of the newest dont come with the cable so be careful) and a 120gb hd, which i am so thankful for. much better than 20gb hd
However.. once you start installing games to your HD, it doesn't take long to fill up the 120 gigs. On the flip side, you can delete games from the HD as needed without sacrificing save data, so...
